I'm trying to download Mavericks, but can't find/access the Mac App Store. When I click 'Upgrade Now' in the Apple Store, it takes me to the iTunes store but wants to know what app to open it with. If I open the iTunes store from iTunes itself, it only gives iPad and iPhone as the choices.

I'm running OS X 10.6.8 on a Macbook, and when I checked for updates, it says there aren't any. I've seen 'combo' mentioned on the forums - my computer info doesn't say Combo, but I must have it.

OR - I have a white MacBook from 2008. Perhaps it's too old for the 'combo' and too old for Mavericks? Someone else asked that and the responder wanted more info, but there isn't any. And the generic descriptions on the tech specs page don't help much.

Can anyone help me? Thanks.
